Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly transformed the financial services industry through the emergence of Financial Technology (FinTech). One of the rapidly growing FinTech services in Indonesia is Peer to Peer (P2P) Lending, which provides easier access to financing for communities and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). However, this development also presents various risks, such as misuse of personal data, illegal Lending practices, high interest rates, and the possibility of loan defaults.

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) plays a strategic role as an institution responsible for regulating, supervising, and protecting consumers in the financial services sector, including FinTech P2P Lending. This study aims to analyze the role of OJK in supervising P2P Lending implementation in Indonesia. This research uses a normative legal research method with statutory and conceptual approaches through literature studies.

The results indicate that OJK plays a role in establishing regulations, granting licenses to service providers, supervising operations, educating the public, and taking action against illegal providers through collaboration with related institutions. The existence of regulations and supervision by OJK is essential in creating a healthy, transparent FinTech industry that provides legal protection to society.
